Zoom in-office teeth whitening whitens the teeth with a combination of 25% peroxide light-activated gel and ACP (Amorphous Calcium Phosphate), which is a proprietary combination of Zoom Teeth Whitening.
This amazing proprietary blend is ACP+ fluoride, and potassium nitrate, which are the main ingredients we use in dentistry for sensitivity relief.
This NEW way of doing whitening in the office is HUGE! Especially for our lovely patients who suffer from sensitivity.
Let’s get a little nerdy!
Normally whitening happens on the outside surfaces of our teeth. However, we don’t get the best results this way, since a lot of our stains are deeply embedded in our teeth.
Here comes zoom teeth whitening to the rescue! 😉
The process of whitening with the zoom light will actually break down the hydrogen peroxide, by separating tiny molecules with the zoom light, and in return, the stains break down inside our teeth, and voila SUPER white teeth!
Did I mention, barely, if any, sensitivity… Oh, AND it makes our teeth stronger! 😉 It’s a little bit magical!
Let’s get even nerdier!
The zoom whitening system reaches its whitening peak point super fast, so patients don’t need to sit all day in the office, this process only takes about an hour of your time. 15 mins. of prep work and 3-sets of 15mins. sessions of whitening with the light.
Keep in mind, if you have tetracycline staining,
these stains can be tougher to be removed, so we will do one extra 15 mins. session on you! 😉

- Whiteout gums and cure with dental light to harden
- Apply carbamide to the back of the teeth that will be whitened

Pre-Whitening Instructions
Using a sensitive toothpaste like Sensodyne, two weeks before you start professionally whitening can make A HUGE difference. Sensodyne contains an ingredient called potassium nitrate, this ingredient blocks the sensitivity tubules in our teeth. If you want a faster sensitivity relief option (2-3 days), click here.
Post-Whitening Instructions
Do not drink/eat anything that will stain a white t-shirt. No Joke, I have seen patients stain their teeth brown from just having broth, after whitening. Be careful in the first 24 hours! Eat light-colored foods. Continue using regular Sensodyne for another 2 weeks. This will help with any sensitivity you should have. I always recommend patients take ibuprofen right after they have finished whitening. This will help with any sneaky pain you should have post-whitening.
Other options for sensitivity relief for post-whitening, which you can purchase at your dental office:
Fluoride varnish- This is a professional treatment that is done in the office, it is great for post-whitening, it can help strengthen your teeth and help with sensitivity post-whitening.
Mi-Paste- This product also helps with sensitivity and makes your teeth stronger. If you have trays you can apply them to the tray and wear it for 30 mins. at a time, you can use it daily, until you have relief.
If you don’t have trays, try these ones.
♥| Common questions you may have about teeth whitening | ♥
Does Zoom whitening damage enamel?
No, the process is very safe 🙂 At the beginning of whitening your teeth, the whitening agent opens up the pores of your teeth, then the whitening agent goes into the open pores of your teeth. Once the whitening process is done, your teeth’ pores will slowly start to close. This is why many people feel sensitivity post-whitening, but it goes away! 🙂
How often can I get Zoom whitening?
Twice a year!
What should you not do after Zoom whitening?
Eat/Drink anything that could stain a white t-shirt. Just as an example, let’s say you whitening in the morning. I would recommend having a lunch of light-colored food, or even better a white/light-colored smoothie, and then brush and floss right away. By dinner, you are good to go.
How long does professional teeth whitening last | How long does zoom whitening last?
Professional whitening will last a long time, you do have to stay on top of touch-ups. It will honestly depend on what you like to eat/drink. All you coffee drinkers out there, you will need to whiten a little more often!
Can I drink coffee through a straw after teeth whitening?
Yes, and no… I would wait at least 24 hours, just to be on the cautionary side.
How much does it cost to whiten your teeth at dentist? | How much does zoom whitening cost? k
Depends on location and what else they offer with the whitening. Avg. cost $500.
How do I keep my teeth white after whitening?
By doing touch-ups with either a teeth whitening pen
OR popping in a whitening tray with whitening gel, every 3-6months (depending on your coffee/tea intake). Brushing, with a whitening toothpaste and flossing on a regular basis. Seeing your dental hygienist for dental cleaning every 3-6months.

Why do my teeth look patchy after whitening?
When you whiten your teeth, you may see some white spots, that you have not seen before, OR you have seen, but now they are brighter! These spots are called decalcification spots, they are basically weak spots on your teeth. These spots are always a whiter shade than your enamel. These spots become dramatically bright right after whitening. But don’t worry, they will go away as the day goes by. If you can still see them, I recommended continuing to whiten at home with a tray, until they even out.
What can I eat after zoom whitening?
Do not drink/eat anything that will stain a white t-shirt. No Joke, I have seen patients stain their teeth brown from just having broth, after whitening. Be careful in the first 24 hours! Eat light-colored foods.
